Constraints invites submissions for a special issue celebrating its 20th Anniversary. The year 2016 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Constraints journal. From the beginning, the Journal has brought the constraint reasoning and constraint programming community together to share ideas and advances and to introduce newcomers to the challenges and accomplishments of the field.
This special issue will celebrate the 20th Anniversary by presenting perspectives on constraint reasoning and constraint programming history, on the future of the field with emphasis on new and promising directions, and recently studied subfields concerning both theoretical and application aspects.
We invite authors to submit articles that are either surveys on the subfield of constraint reasoning and constraint programming or position papers presenting viewpoints on the future of the field. Each survey should cover existing literature on the subject with a view on open directions and expected impact of the proposed method. Position papers instead are shorter (up to 10 pages) representing the author’s point of view on the next 20 years of constraint reasoning and programming research and applications.
